Why is this migration happening?
This migration moves our Bitverse NFT heroes to Immutable’s zkEVM network which is a more robust system that allows us to do more to support these NFTs in Bit Heroes. Additionally, you will have more insight into your NFT hero’s metadata via Immutable’s Passport wallet. We hope to share more benefits with you as we get closer to the actual date of the migration.
What do I need to do to migrate my NFT hero?
The details of each step can be found in the answers below, but here is an overview of the steps required to successfully migrate your NFT hero.
- Create a Passport wallet via play.immutable.com.
-
Make sure you can access your current Ethereum wallet.
If you cannot, you should follow the alternate process explained below.
- Add the zkEVM network to your current Ethereum wallet.
- Link your current Ethereum wallet to your new Passport wallet.
- Link your Passport wallet to your Kongregate account via zkevm.thebitverse.io.
- Unstake your NFT hero before the server is reset on November 6th at approximately 1pm PST (9pm UTC).
- After the server reset on November 6th has finished, import your NFT from your current Ethereum wallet to your new Passport wallet.
- Play!
Do I need to unstake my NFT hero?
⚠️ All current holders of an NFT hero will need to unstake their hero before November 6th.
As a part of our server reset on November 6th, Immutable will transfer all unstaked NFT heroes from your Ethereum wallet on the current blockchain to the exact same wallet address on the new zkEVM blockchain. Once this process has been completed, you will need to import the NFT from your current Ethereum wallet to you new Passport wallet to then re-stake your hero into the game.
Can I unstake on November 6th?
We suggest requesting unstaking at least 48 hours in advance. We will try our best to fulfill as many unstaking requests as possible before the reset, but the more time you give us to process your request, the more likely it is to be completed in time.
How do I unstake my NFT hero?
Official content creator, bitverse_andy has a useful video on how to unstake a Bitverse NFT Hero via thebitverse.io.
What will happen if I forget to unstake?
If your NFT hero is not unstaked by the date of the migration, you will need to follow the Claim Hero process that we will be detailing in a future announcement. Using this process is likely to cause delays as we will need to manually review each claim requested. We suggest following the migration instructions outlined here to the best of your ability if you wish to minimize time spent not being able to play the game.
Will I lose my Guild Honor and Contribution when I unstake?
You should not lose Honor or Contribution as a part of unstaking or re-staking during this migration. Issues related to NFT heroes losing Honor and/or Contribution are typically related to players from the same guild trading NFTs with each other.
Will I be unable to play my NFT hero until I migrate it?
Once this migration has been completed on November 6th, you will no longer be able to access your NFT hero in the game until you have completed the necessary steps.
Will I need to re-stake my NFT once it has been migrated and imported?
This new zkEVM network provides us with a handful of new features we can utilize to improve the overall experience of Bitverse NFT Heroes. With zkEVM, staking and unstaking will no longer be required. Your NFT Hero should be playable soon after you have imported it to your Passport wallet.
⚠️ You do not need to use the Sync Progression button to play with your NFT Hero after importing it. Pressing this button will put your NFT Hero on a six hour cooldown where it will be unplayable as well.
Will I have to pay gas fees?
On the zkEVM blockchain, all EOA (Externally Owned Account) wallets, such as Metamask, will have to pay a small fee (a gas fee) to move NFTs between accounts. Passport wallets will not have gas fees.
Will I have to pay to move my NFT hero as part of this migration?
Since all transactions for this migration will involve an EOA, there will be a gas fee for this initial transfer. However, Kongregate will be depositing a small amount of cryptocurrency to your wallet as a part of this process to cover this one-time cost.
Why don’t I have enough IMX for my migration?
Gas fees can fluctuate depending on how congested the network is at that time. Depending on your settings, your current Ethereum wallet may not be configured properly to process the transaction in time. To get around this issue, we recommend the following configuration:
- Gas Limit: 21000
- Max priority fee: 12
- Max fee: 15
Do I need a Passport wallet?
Yes. All Bitverse NFT Heroes will require a Passport wallet to be used after this migration. This requirement ensures that all future transactions between accounts won’t involve gas fees. You can create a new Passport wallet at play.immutable.com.
⚠️ If you own multiple NFT Heroes across multiple Kongregate accounts, you will need to have one Passport wallet for each Kongregate account in order to link them all properly.
How do I link my current wallet to my Passport wallet?
When viewing your Passport wallet on play.immutable.com, you can view your linked wallets by using the gear icon to open the Settings menu. You can use the Connect New Wallet button to link your current Ethereum wallet to your new Passport wallet.
⚠️ Your current Ethereum wallet must be connected to the zkEVM blockchain for linking to work.
You can learn more about linking wallets to Passport here.
How do I add the zkEVM blockchain network to my current wallet?
This process will differ depending on the Ethereum wallet provider you use. The steps below are specific to Metamask.
1. Open MetaMask and select the network dropdown.
2. Click on ‘Add a network manually’ at the bottom of the list.
3. Fill in the required details with the following:
- Network Name: Immutable zkEVM Mainnet
- New RPC URL:https://rpc.immutable.com
- Chain ID:13371
- Currency Symbol: IMX
- Block Explorer URL:https://explorer.immutable.com
4. Click ‘Save’.
5. Select ‘Switch to Immutable zkEVM Mainnet’ to finalize the setup.
You can learn more about adding the zkEVM network to Metamask here.
How do I import my NFT to my new Passport wallet?
Once your current Ethereum wallet has been linked to your Passport wallet, you should be able to use the Inventory menu to import your NFT hero in to your Passport wallet directly from your linked wallet. You can find the Import button in the upper right corner of the Inventory view.
You can learn more about importing collectibles to Passport here.
What do I do if I’ve lost access to my current wallet?
We will be establishing a Claim Hero process soon after we have finalized this migration. This process will allow players who can’t access the wallet that currently owns their NFT hero to still migrate that hero to their new Passport wallet.
Here is an overview of the steps that will be required to successfully claim your NFT hero.
- Create a Passport wallet via play.immutable.com.
- Ensure that the verified email associated with your Passport wallet matches the verified email associated with your Kongregate account.
- Link your Passport wallet to your Kongregate account via zkevm.thebitverse.io.
- Refresh your Hero Inventory
- Click the Claim Hero button on any NFT Heroes that are eligible to be claimed.
- After your claim request has been approved, you should see your NFT Hero again when you log into Bit Heroes Quest.
⚠️ After the migration, unclaimed NFT Heroes will no longer be playable it Bit Heroes Quest. If you plan to make use of the Claim Hero process, please note that this process may take several business days.
How do I link my Kongregate account to my Passport wallet?
All NFT holders must link their Kongregate account to their Passport wallet even if they have lost access to their current Ethereum wallet.
Visit zkevm.thebitverse.io and navigate to the Account page from the menu at the top of the screen. Once on this page, simply login to your Kongregate.com account and the Passport wallet you created via play.immutable.com, approve the authorization requests for both accounts, and then click the Link Accounts button.
Why don’t I see my NFT Hero in my Inventory once my Kongregate account is linked to my Passport wallet?
If you are following the standard migration flow and don’t intend to make use of the Claim Hero process, you may or may not see your NFT Hero in your Inventory once your Kongregate account and your Passport wallet are linked. As long as you unstake before the migration on November 6th, it should not matter whether or not you can see your NFT in your Inventory at this time. Once the migration has finished, you should see your NFT Hero in your Inventory after it has been imported to your Passport wallet from your current Ethereum wallet.
However, before the migration day, any Claimable NFT Heroes can be seen in your Inventory. An NFT Hero is considered Claimable while it is still staked and only if the verified emails of both the Kongregate account and Passport wallet match. If you are unable to unstake your NFT before the migration on November 6th, you will initiate the Claim Hero process from here once the process has been made available.
If you intend to make use of the Claim Hero process and do not see your NFT Hero in your Inventory after linking your Kongregate account to your Passport wallet this may indicate that the verified emails associated with your account and your wallet do not match.
How do I change my Kongregate to Passport linkage if I make a mistake?
If you have linked your Kongregate account to the wrong Passport wallet, you can update this by simply reloading the page, logging in with the correct Passport wallet, and using the link button again. This will overwrite the previous linkage.
If you have linked your Passport wallet to the wrong Kongregate account, you won’t be able to link a different Kongregate account since each Passport wallet can only accept one link at a time. To correct this, you will need to make a separate Passport wallet at play.immutable.com and link the incorrect Kongregate account to that wallet first. This will clear the Kongregate account data from the Passport wallet you’re attempting to link which will allow you to then link to correct Kongregate account to it.
How do I claim my NFT Hero?
Your Claimable NFT Heroes can be accessed via your Inventory on zkevm.thebitverse.io. An NFT Hero is consider Claimable if it was still staked before the network migration on November 6th. Additionally, your Kongregate account will need to be linked to a Passport wallet, and both accounts will need to be associated with the exact same verified email address.
⚠️ The email on your Kongregate account is case-sensitive. If it does not match the case of the email you are using for your Passport wallet, your NFT Heroes will not be Claimable.
Simply use the Claim Hero button to begin the process.
You claim request will then be marked as In Progress until a member of the team can review that your claim is legitimate.
Once the claim request has been approved, a green checkmark should appear in your Hero Inventory, and you should be able to play with your NFT Hero in Bit Heroes Quest.
What if my NFT Hero is currently listed for sale on Tokentrove?
All Bitverse NFT Heroes will be de-listed from any markets during the migration on November 6th. However, you will be able to re-list your NFT on the zkEVM network once the migration has been completed.
What will happen to my Bitverse Portals?
Portals will not be migrated. Make sure to claim your NFT Heroes from any remaining Portals in your Inventory before they are frozen during the migration on November 6th.
I’m learning about this migration after it has already happened. How can I recover my NFT hero?
The Claim Hero process for players who have lost access to their wallet will also apply to players who did not perform the necessary steps before the migration date.
Will you be minting new NFT heroes?
We have no plans at this time to mint a new generation of Bitverse NFT heroes.
