Our moderator team enforces world chat rules listed in the Terms of Service (ToS) and will mute players who have broken those rules. Some of our moderators provide a warning ahead of time, but they are not required to, as every user agrees to the ToS at the time they enter chat.
Repeatedly breaking rules will lead to longer duration mutes and eventually a permanent mute. In some cases, a moderator will issue a temporary mute that is later replaced by a longer or permanent mute, issued by a developer. When necessary, alternate accounts, Kongregate.com accounts, and profiles/accounts present in our official communities may be muted, removed or banned.
The rules are in place to help keep the game chat on-topic, safe, and inclusive for players for many ages and backgrounds. Additionally, world chat is meant to bring people together to talk about the game, ask for help, socialize, and help improve the game. For this reason, we also do not allow excessive toxicity and negativity, as that tends to detract from the game chat's purpose and harm the community.
If there was a genuine mixup or misunderstanding regarding a mute, please let us know! We will do our best to correct the situation. If you have additional questions or need to report issues you experienced with a moderator, please contact us.
