Transition Follow-Up & Development Team Growth
Bit Heroes was lovingly crafted by the developers at Juppiomenz using ActionScript, a language that not many engineers these days are well versed in. That specialization led us to work with Odaclick, a work for hire developer, for some areas of the game. We’ve been working with Odaclick since earlier this year and have had a great experience. We are looking to grow the internal Bit Heroes team (interested in joining? Click here!) to better support the game and improve our processes, but we do intend to continue working with Odaclick into the future.
The transition has been quite a learning experience for everyone-- we’re still evolving, always improving. We’ve received some helpful feedback and will continue to work hard to improve the game and the way it is serviced. We’re thankful for the patience and understanding the players have during this time!
The Armory
As previously announced, we are working on a new loadout management feature called “The Armory” which will allow players to save equipment loadouts for later use. This will allow both the player and their friends to select which variant of the player they would like to use in an encounter.
Progress on this feature is looking pretty good and we are aiming to implement it into the game later this year.
Future
Features or fixes we have discussed implementing but need more time to plan, design, and/or implement.
Our designers and engineers are currently working on:
- Ads 2.0: a new pass at adding value into the ad system.
- Elemental Gear, new damage types/tech, new healing types/tech, HoTs, DoTs, buffs, debuffs, dungeon effects, and more.
- A new quest-based progression system for new players.
- Familiar mission system
- A brand new event type
The Player Council will be discussing and previewing (where applicable):
- All items listed above
- New gameplay balancing
- Event balancing
- F2p and p2w balance
- Ideas for new content
Additionally, we’ll be taking extra notes and feedback from the council on current balance, meta, and economy:
- We are currently looking at ways to add tools that will allow for more flexibility in each playstyle.
- We are also looking at ways we can add value to both the F2p and P2W player base while addressing pain points with each.
- This includes the recent push towards making all item types more accessible to F2P.
- This also includes a new mercy roll mechanic on the existing pet and accessory boxes.
